THE BEAUTY OF HOLINESS

St. Benedict, Edmonton, is a vibrant, traditional and family-oriented Catholic community where every person is welcome. It began over twelve years ago when a small group of Anglicans in Edmonton sought unity with the Catholic Church under the terms of Pope Benedict’s Apostolic Constitution Anglicanorum coetibus. The original Anglicans became fully Roman Catholic and in the decade since, have been joined by other converts as well as cradle Catholics and re-verts to the faith — anyone who appreciates a traditional English Mass. Our little community has grown especially since 2020 and we are currently a mission of St. John the Evangelist in Calgary.

We are served by our Parochial Administrator Fr. Robert-Charles Bengry, Fr. Adrian Martens and other priests. We are growing, young, and want to bring a life-changing relationship with Jesus and His Church to all of Northern and Central Alberta to the Glory of God and the redemption of Man!

We worship at the beautiful Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church. Come and visit us and join our community for worship, fellowship and good works. Come and discover the Venerable English Mass!

COME AND WORSHIP

St. Benedict’s, located within the Archdiocese of Edmonton, is a community of the Ordinariate of the Chair of Saint Peter worshipping at Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We worship the Triune God with Sacral English and beautiful music in a manner that keeps ancient English Catholic tradition alive here in the city. We have an accent on the Catholicism found in England before the Protestant Reformation and on the spiritual patrimony that survived and sustained the faithful through it. But with all of that said, the faith expressed at St. Benedict’s is not a ‘museum faith’ but is rather one that is lively and actively engages a culture that is largely indifferent (and often hostile) to the Church that Christ founded two-thousand years ago. Discover the rich and deep traditions of the Church by worshipping with us! All are welcome!
